As part of SoBA’s community outreach committment, SoBA offers a 10 week “Children’s After School Art Program”, for children in grades 4 and 5 during the months of January, February and March. SoBA provides free instruction and free supplies. The program takes place at the “Center for Creative Arts”, building adjacent to the SoBA Gallery on Church Street in Bluffton. The teaching staff is composed of experienced teachers and aides who volunteer their time and energy.
This program is now in its 15th year. Begining in 2017 on January 23 and ends March 28. Due to conflicts with scheduled adult classes at CCA, this year’s program will be held on Monday and Tuesday after school hours. The Boys and Girls Club will meet Wednesdays beginning on February 22 through March 22.
Art teachers from the several area elementary schools will help select and coordinate participating children. Schools invited are: MC Riley, Bluffton, Red Cedar, Pritchardville, River Ridge, St.Gregory, Cross Schools and Boys and Girls Club. Home Schooled children need to contact us directly.
