Joy Nelson, the police department’s Community Relations Manager, tells us they will be putting all the money raised in this event towards their K-9 Unit. The new K-9 handlers, Officer Jason Rodriguez and Officer George Wetzel, will attend our reception along with Major Manning, Joy, and her husband. I hope SOBA members will be sure to attend and give these folks a very warm welcome. We rely on the department to keep us safe and are so happy to help them in any way – especially if it involves the hard working pups who uncomplainingly do their jobs!
