In keeping with its community outreach commitment and in an effort to promote the visual arts to our young people, SoBA offers a 5 week art program for area children in grades 4 and 5 during the months of February and March, 2018.
These classes are free with all supplies provided by SoBA. Volunteer qualified instructors and aides share their time, skills, dedication to art and love of children to this effort. Projects are fun and creative. Students will take home a completed project at each session.
Classes are held at the Creative Arts Center, the building adjacent to the SoBA Gallery which is on the corner of Calhoun and Church Sts. in Old Town Bluffton.
Dates and topics for the classes are
- Mon. and Tues. February 12 – 13, “Illuminated Letters”
- Mon. and Tues. February 26 – 27, “Lilies”
- Mon. and Tues. March 12 – 13, “Lighthouse”
- Mon. and Tues. March 19 – 20, “Leaves”
- Mon. and Tues. March 26 – 27, “Lions”
Instruction times: 4:00 – 5:15.
We expect students to arrive and depart on time.
New this year is the sign up procedure. Because dates and times are limited we ask parents to observe the following guidelines for registering via the website application below.
Each child may select 2 dates only: a Monday or Tuesday of different weeks. A different project is presented each week. This is a first come, first serve enrollment. If the class is filled, a wait list will be made in case of vacancies.
Parents will be notified via email:
1 – when accepted into a given class
2 – if a space is available in a particular class
Parents will also receive some required preliminary paper work prior to the first class via email which is to be printed and returned to SoBA when child attends their first class. If this is inconvenient a parent may come a bit before the class to sign these papers.
