Whether you live here in the Low Country of South Carolina or in Timbuktu – these beautiful sunrises and sunsets instill the desire to create what you see and put it on canvas.
Come join this 2 day workshop and conquer or improve this skill and have fun doing it! The painting of the luminous layers of color doesn’t have to be a serious challenge. This is a workshop where you’ll learn the basics to dramatic finishes. If you already paint skies, this is an opportunity to embellish what you already know.
Mary Ann offers a clear and creative way to paint the challenging colors of sunrises and sunsets. She will give a demonstration each morning and guide you through the processes of analyzing each example (photo), from color mixing, to the layering of color and reflection of color on water to obtain the believable result.
If you choose oil or acrylic paint, she will guide you through each medium. Mary Ann will work with you as you progress. She is an active member of Society of Bluffton Artists, juried member of National Association of Women Artists and notable muralist of over 26 years.
