While working as an RN in New York City, Letty Husson needed some diversion from the medical field. With the encouragement of a friend, she enrolled part-time at Marymount Manhattan College and graduated in 1986 with a BA in Studio Art. Painting was her favorite subject, and she painted mainly in watercolor and oil. However after graduation, working for a living and having to care for her ailing mother did not allow time for art.

Letty retired in 1997 and moved to Maine with her husband and mother. After the passing of her mother in 2004 she hooked up with a friend and started taking refresher art lessons. The vibrant colors of the pastel sticks captured her interest as it makes for immediate correction or addition the work at hand.

Letty fell in love with the buttery pastel sticks and painted the beautiful land, sea and skyscapes of Maine in the medium for several years before adding oil to her repertoire.

As she is now in the Low Country of South Carolina, she paints in both pastel and oil. She is attracted to the marshes and birds in the area.

Letty is a member of SOBA (Society of Bluffton Artists) in  Bluffton, the Art League of Hilton Head and Beaufort Art Association in Beaufort.
