What does “Paint shapes, not things” mean?  It means creating strong masses and leaving out the details. In this group of classes, you will learn how to use color to create contrast in your painting – develop in Hue – Value – Intensity.  Eliminate overly done details.  Learn color techniques and the effect of using brush strokes to create recognizable & attractive shapes.  Bring drama into your paintings.

Mary Ann is a professional artist, muralist & teacher of over 37 years of experience & member of National Assoc. of Women Artists.  She is the active set designer/artist of the Center for the Arts in Beaufort and teaches art at Bayshore & Tide Pointe Senior Living facilities, as well as The Society of Bluffton Artists.
