“The Beauty of Bluffton”

Art Show and Slideshow exhibit Jan. 4-Feb. 1

The Society of Bluffton Artists gallery in Old Town Bluffton invites the public to enjoy a special exhibit featuring the “The Beauty of Bluffton.”

Sprawling live oaks with Spanish moss, historic antebellum homes and the local majestic waterways are a few of the area’s beautiful features that will hold center stage at the art gallery from Jan. 4-Feb. 1.

“We wanted to encourage people to come back to Bluffton and to promote the arts in Bluffton which have continued despite COVID,” said Mary Ann Burgeson, SOBA’s president. “The area we live in is so beautiful and we want others to come and appreciate it.”

This special exhibit will feature paintings from various SOBA artists and a slideshow of over 100 iconic images of Bluffton SC from Pete Schramm, a SOBA exhibiting artist. The fine art photography slideshow is set up on a 27-inch screen that will play on a loop in the gallery. Schramm said this is a great way to get to know Old Town Bluffton because each image is labelled.

“I started looking at the thousands of pictures of Bluffton, and it frustrated me that only one would be reduced to the wall,” Schramm said. “I wanted something that shows the diversity of  the town and the things you can see there.”
