Exhibiting Society of Bluffton artists were asked to add at least “A Touch of Blue” to their art in this June exhibit at the SOBA Gallery, resulting in a beautiful show. SoBA will donate 10% of all sales for the month to the Bluffton Police Department, specifically towards the new K-9 Unit.
SOBA members and guests were delighted to be joined at the reception Friday evening by members of the Police Department. Joy Nelson, the Department’s Community Relations Manager, Officer Jason Rodriguez, Officer George Wetzel, and Major Manning each spoke briefly about their involvement in our community and the excitement over their new K-9 Unit – they will be receiving two German Shepherds that are completing their training now. They promised to give SOBA members and friends a demonstration of the dogs and the officer’s skills as soon as they are in place. SOBA members gave the group a very warm welcome. We rely on the department to keep us safe and are so happy to help them in any way – especially the hard working pups who will be joining our community soon!
“A Touch of Blue” will be on display through July 3. The SOBA gallery is open from 10 until 5 pm Monday – Saturday and Sunday from 11:30 am – 3 pm, and is located at the corner of Church and Calhoun Streets in Bluffton.
