In this class I teach how to make engaging visual conversations by pushing color that reads more as expressive paintings and less like copies or “renderings” of a resource photo. I’ll show you how to make many different beautiful marks & how to influence acrylic paint to do what you want, not dictate what you can’t do with it. You’ll gain the confidence you need to push past the “FUGLY” beginning of every new painting!
Students will learn how:
- Vibrant brant brush marks and expressive color will make your painting dance and sing with joy.
- Hard and soft edges & lost and found form give the eye places to rest.
- To strategically place broken color with complimentary colors next to one another.
- To use subliminal “micro jewelry” strokes of color to make your painting come alive…as a painting that draws you in and is always better than the source photo.
