In this three-hour watercolor workshop, students will paint a serene coastal scene featuring rolling waves, sandy dunes, beach grasses, and weathered wooden sand fencing. Marie will guide students step-by-step in creating soft atmospheric washes for the sky and ocean while learning how to suggest the texture of sand, grasses, and weathered wood with expressive watercolor brushwork.
Students will explore wet-on-wet washes, layering, creating soft edges, perspective, and dry-brush and expressive strokes to capture the natural textures of the shoreline. Special attention will be given to creating depth by using lighter, softer colors in the distance and stronger values in the foreground.
Perfect for: Beginner to intermediate watercolor students
Bring your own supplies. Supply List Will Be Sent to the Student.
