August Featured Artists Exhibit Showcasing Large-Scale Works

The Society of Bluffton Artists (SOBA) invites the public to experience an inspiring collection of large-scale artwork during its August Featured Artists Exhibit, on display August 2 through August 30, at the SOBA Gallery in Old Town Bluffton.

The exhibit features six accomplished SOBA artists whose works measure larger than 36 x 40 inches, offering visitors a unique opportunity to enjoy artwork on a grand scale. Participating artists include Delta Lane, Marianne Thatcher, Missy Gentile, Lynne Drake, Jeanne Landreth, Virginia Cassidy and Julie Jones, each bringing a distinctive artistic voice and style to the exhibition.

Guests are invited to meet the artists during the Opening Reception from 4-6 p.m. on  August 7 at the gallery. The reception is free and open to the public and offers the opportunity to learn more about each artist’s creative process while enjoying an evening of art and conversation.

From vibrant abstracts and expressive contemporary works to captivating landscapes, coastal scenes, wildlife, and mixed media, the exhibit highlights the diversity and talent found within Bluffton’s thriving arts community. The larger format allows each artist to create an even greater visual impact, immersing viewers in color, texture, and storytelling.

“This exhibit celebrates the power of working on a larger canvas,” said Karen Richards, SOBA president. “Each piece invites visitors to slow down, explore the details, and experience the unique perspective of six remarkable artists.”

The Society of Bluffton Artists has been fostering creativity and supporting local artists for more than 30 years. Located in the heart of Old Town Bluffton, the SOBA Gallery features rotating exhibits, workshops, classes, and events throughout the year.

The August Featured Artists Exhibit is free to attend and artwork will be available for purchase.
