I grew up in Birmingham, Alabama and was educated at the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa. I received a BFA in studio art and a MA in communication. I began my art career as a graphic designer then later transitioned to teaching art in elementary and high school. Now I am happily retired and producing art. Coming from a watercolor background, I am fascinated with the fluid qualities of water. The moving and flowing of the paint make up a large part of my work, either as background for my nature paintings or as an abstract piece.
