You see the beauty of the beach as you walk by grasses in the sand. You see glorious skies every day. And you love to feel the water as it glides up onto the beach and over your toes. How do you capture those precious moments? In this workshop, David Rankin will focus our watercolors on the water, sand & skies, and all that implies. Rough watercolor paper allows us to create the widest variety of textures and visual effects needed to paint the lovely soft feeling of the beach grasses along with the delicate and complicated details of the grasses in the bright light. The dramatic edges of cast shadows on the sand increase the feeling of softness. And, to capture the colors and movement of the water, along with those of the sky, you will need perfect washes and blends.
