The Society of Bluffton Artists

Ann Hyde is an abstract impressionist artist inspired by the ocean, marshes, and rivers that surround the Lowcountry. Her art journey began as a child growing up in Virginia. She received her first commission at twelve.

A career in graphic design and marketing influenced her art but she wanted to move to a different style.

“I painted and drew realistically for many years until a wonderful art teacher challenged me to break out of my excruciatingly detailed works”.

Ann works primarily in acrylics and mixed media on canvas and paper. Her paintings evoke the beauty of the ever changing color, light, and shapes on water.
