SoBA will host its 4th Children’s K-5 Art Expo in late April 2017. The exhibit will be housed in SoBA’s Center for Creative Arts building adjacent to the Gallery. SoBA is committed to encouraging and promoting young people’s creative art. The past shows have been wonderful, well received by the children’s families and the general public. Please read the guidelines and schedule below and respond ASAP, indicating your intentions.
This event is open to children in grades kindergarten through 5.
Art Teachers in each school are asked to select 2 art pieces (2 dimension only) from each grade level, total of 12 pieces, that represent the children’s art and the art program in your school. Please attach a tag to the BACK side of the pieces with the following info: student name, grade level, school, art teacher.
Also needed is a signed waiver form from either the parent or teacher permitting SoBA to photo the pieces for publicity. SoBA will create a uniform gallery tag displayed with each piece.
Art work is to be created in a school art class with no hands on assistance from the teacher. Teachers may mount the pieces on colorful paper to create a border or SoBA volunteers will do so. Do not use mat board since it is too heavy to hang with our hanging system. Work will be NOT FOR SALE.
SoBA will collect from and return the pieces to your school.
A Sunday opening reception will be held for the children, families and general public.
Thank you for your consideration. This gives the children a venue to display their work in a professional setting and brings folks to Bluffton’s Old Town Art District. SoBA is pleased to meet so many great (future) artists, families, teachers, friends. Everyone benefits from this collaborative effort.
Please reply ASAP regarding your intent. We will then send you a waiver document and an identification tag to be TAPED to the back of the pieces.
