9 a.m.-4 p.m. December 3-5
Cost $450, member and $475, non-members
This workshop will cover all the essential elements that go into making a solid landscape painting. Starting with intense compositional studies in order to begin the correct lay-in of your drawing onto the canvas; in combination with harmonious color notes developed from in-depth color theory and mixing. Gestural lines to value relationships, as well as developing a focal interest will be discussed, along with how and when to use detail in order to improve your landscape paintings. A variety of landscape subjects will be covered. Lots of individual attention and technical critique throughout the 3 days. Please bring in your own reference materials to paint from, whether photographs or small painting studies. Also students are welcome to bring in any old or new paintings, throughout the workshop, that need to be critiqued and discussed.
