A series of classes in oil for beginners & those wanting to refresh their skills

9:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. Tuesdays in August (4, 11, 28, 25) • $105, members and $125 for non-members (for all four classes)
This continuing series of painting classes will be formatted to renew what has been taught and new levels of painting techniques for those who attended before and new students. I will give a demo in each class pertaining to the Topic of the Day.
What you will learn:
First class: Basic color mixing terminology – hue, value & saturation. Knowledge of perspective – creating depth, eliminating clutter & determining light source and shadows. One-on-one instruction.
Second Class: Defining focal point, creating mood & atmosphere in a local scene. Instruction in use of color, making glazes & brush techniques.
Third Class: Work from a favorite photo – learning the do’s & don’ts.
Fourth Class: To be determined from class progress.
Materials Needed: oil paints & medium (mineral spirits), sketch pad, palette
