Open Painting Studio with Instruction July 19, 26 with Mary Ann Ford

It is the intent of this ongoing class/workshop – whatever you wish to call it – a place where we can meet and you bring a new creative idea, a piece that’s ‘bugging’ you or just an opportunity to learn a little more how to put on canvas some idea or vision that is meaningful to you.  Come with acrylics or oils and your photo or find one in my newly gathered photo file to inspire a new painting.  Bring your supplies – Mary Ann also has both acrylic & oils & extra brushes for any needs that come up.

Within each 3 hour class, I will demonstrate and discuss with you techniques and give one-on-one direction to each student as work progresses.  Your questions and concerns will direct the lessons.  The following are just a few of the concerns that will be covered:

• Color mixing knowledge
• Eliminating overpainting
• Hows & whys of using photos Values – making paintings exciting
• How to make quick sketches into paintings etc, etc.
