Painting birds in transparent watercolor requires specific skills. David Rankin will help you create brilliant watercolors featuring several of the coolest birds in the lowcountry—wood storks, spoonbills and ibis. Capturing a likeness of a bird requires specific brushstrokes, good design and knowledge about the bird’s characteristics. Learning how to create the illusion of “roundness” by using light and shadows, making sure its attributes are correct (feathers, beak, the eyes, its feet, etc.), and blending variations in its colors are just some of the skills that David will share.
