This set of classes is designed to reinforce learning and relearning some of the underlying theories that are a part of all paintings. Classes will include a lecture on the topic of the week, painting time to practice the topic discussed, and class discussion.
First Class: the color wheel; define hues and values; determining light source; warm and cool colors; mixing believable colors.
Second Class: Painting Techniques: uses of brushes, paints, and mediums. Determining depth.
Third Class: Composition: establishing a focus and eliminating excess detail. Do’s and don’t’s in working from photos.
Fourth Class: Painting what you have learned to fine tune skills. Determining what painting subjects you are most intimately connected with.
